The dark territory of Xess lies in the curious borderland between gothic sensibilities, thrash metal’s heavy guitar sound and synthetic industrial rhythmic. Though their extravagant persona, eccentric song themes and phantasmagoric live shows clearly place Xess within the fetish-indulgent Goth subculture, their current sound aesthetic, owing more to industrial metal, distinguishes the band from most 'cybergoth' acts. Xess gravitate increasingly towards heavier live sound, boosting their guitars and even planning to abandon the trademark drum machine rhythms in favor of a live drummer. Stunning the crowd with constantly changing provocative stage appearance as much as with their dynamic music, the frequently performing Xess are undeniably one of the key points on the darker side of rock.
