Later known as a minimalist composer, and then for his pastiche works, in the beginning of 1970s Mindaugas Urbaitis wrote dodecaphonic and free atonal music. This song is an example of the latter, with only hints of dodecaphonic series. On the other hand, different sonoristic effects on the piano were employed here for the first time in Lithuanian music, such as slam on the rim with sustain pedal depressed, or singing into resonating stringboard.
